Jenny, Mike, and Sophia McDonnell
We are so very excited to have taken ownership of The Paint Cellar. We have owned The Paint Cellar for two years and would like to thank all of you for coming in! We are proud to be a locally owned small business and invite you to become a guest at our store. We pride ourselves in giving you the customer a memorable experience. Our family, Mike, Jenny, and Sophia are approaching this as a family adventure, and cannot wait to see where this takes us. Mike and Jenny have been in the education world for over 30 years combined, and feel that this is a perfect pairing for our skills. We look forward to meeting each and every one of our guests and are so excited to introduce some new classes, which will include some crafty projects and DIY nights, as well as some kid-focused classes.
Please come in to say hello, and see all of our great paintings and fun crafty projects in our store!
A professional artist living in colorful Colorado, Cathy Frick is best known for her vibrant, bold colors. There has never been a time when she didn’t love to draw or paint and finds it important to tell a story with paint, brush, and canvas. “I want to draw the viewer in and give them a sense of connection to my art.” Inspired by nature you will find her interpretation both surreal and intriguing.
Cathy studied Fine Arts at the Columbus College of Art and Design, but finished her degree at Bowling Green State University, majoring in Visual Communications Technology, Print Production and Graphic Design. After a long successful career in printing, Cathy at the age of 50, returned to her true love of the arts. Her paintings can be found across the front range and with many private collectors across the country.
I’m an Artist and Designer from the beautiful state of Michigan. After my studies in Graphic design and Fine Art, my family and I started our new adventure here in Colorado. Following generations of painters, I knew at a young age that I would have a career in the arts.
After the birth of my son, I have strived to show him and be a living example that with a strong mind and dedicated heart, he can be whoever he wants to be. Being an artist at The Paint Cellar has been nothing but a dream come true to do just that. To follow my passion, inspire and create.
I have the joy of meeting amazing people wherever I move and I look forward to meeting you here at The Paint Cellar!
Greetings, I’m Molly Sullivan. I am a proud Colorado native and absolutely enjoy every part of this beautiful state, but my favorite is it’s people. I live in Aurora with my husband, our three kids (1, 5, and 7). I absolutely love being able to be home with my kids through their young years. Being a mom has helped me to see the world through their curious, free-spirited, innocent eyes. To me, God is the source of beauty and we merely gaze upon it, what a wonderful gift! Let’s explore the possibilities of what beauty we can help you unlock via a fun evening together, accomplishing your own work of art, or having a wonderful conversation in good company…all at the Paint Cellar!
I am Susan. I have loved art since I could color stacks of coloring books as a child. In primary school my favorite thing was art. Same with middle school and High School. I would get in trouble for not paying attention and doodling. So, off to University of WI. Madison I went to achieve my degree in textile design. Upon graduation I packed my car and moved to L.A. where I worked as a textile designer. This took me on business trips to various mills on the East Coast where I met my husband in Logan Int. Airport. He lived in Alaska! Off to Alaska I went. The culture and beauty in Alaska captured my artistic desires even more. I began teaching and painting. Now I live in Centennial Colorado with my husband and have 2 daughters and a son-in- law. I adore them all and continue to have the privilege of teaching my passion, painting. “Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.” ~Scott Adams
Hey there, I’m Alena! I’m a proud Colorado native and currently in my Sophomore year at CSU studying Spanish and Human Development & Family Studies! I love working with people, and I hope to find a career working with children someday! I’ve always enjoyed being creative, whether it be using all of our printer paper to draw, act in the theater program, or go on fun dates to the Paint Cellar (before I was hired). I truly believe art is everywhere, and everyone has an artistic side! Working at The Paint Cellar has been such a joy, and I can’t wait to meet you and have fun painting together!
