Jenny, Mike, and Sophia McDonnell
We are so very excited to be the new owners of the Paint Cellar. Our family, Mike, Jenny, and Sophia, are approaching this as a family adventure, and cannot wait to see where this takes us. Mike and Jenny have been in the education world for over 30 years combined, and feel that this is a perfect pairing for our skills. We look forward to meeting each and every one of our guests and are so excited to introduce some new classes, which will include some crafty projects and DIY nights, as well as some kid focused classes.
Please come in to say hello, and see some of the fun changes already happening within the store!
“Kindness, it doesn’t cost anything…sprinkle it everywhere!”
Hi, I am Megan Smith. I was born and raised right here in Aurora, CO! Art has always been a passion of mine. After high school I decided to pursue my passion and received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in Two Dimensional Studio Art. Most of my artwork is inspired by the natural beauty and the vibrant colors found in nature. I love to paint but also enjoy DIY projects and interior design. When not painting I enjoy going to the mountains, spending time with family and sipping on a cup of Starbucks coffee!
I love working with people and look forward to sharing my love for art with those who attend my classes!
A professional artist living in colorful Colorado, Cathy Frick is best known for her vibrant, bold colors. There has never been a time when she didn’t love to draw or paint and finds it important to tell a story with paint, brush and canvas. “I want to draw the viewer in and give them a sense of connection to my art.” Inspired by nature you will find her interpretation both surreal and intriguing.
Cathy studied Fine Arts at the Columbus College of Art and Design, but finished her degree at Bowling Green State University, majoring in Visual Communications Technology, Print Production and Graphic Design. After a long successful career in printing, Cathy at the age of 50, returned to her true love of the arts. Her paintings can be found across the front range and with many private collectors across the country.
Im an Artist and Designer from the beautiful state of Michigan. After my studies in Graphic design and Fine Art, my family and I started our new adventure here in Colorado. Following generations of painters, I knew at a young age that I would have a career in the arts.
After the birth of my son, I have strived to show him and be a living example that with a strong mind and dedicated heart, he can be whoever he wants to be. Being an artist at The Paint Cellar has been nothing but a dream come true to do just that. To follow my passion, inspire and create.
Hello! My name is Stacey. I am one of the newer artists here at the Paint Cellar and new to Aurora. We are a military family just moving here to Buckley AFB. A few of my favorite places we’ve lived are Alaska, Alabama, New Mexico and now, of course, Colorado! Moving with the military has exposed me to many different cultures and styles. I love to reflect those styles in my artwork. I finished my BFA in Visual Arts at Eastern New Mexico University and am excited to share my love for art and creativity with others.
I have the joy of meeting amazing people wherever I move and I look forward to meeting you here at The Paint Cellar!
Greetings, I’m Molly Sullivan. I am a proud Colorado native and absolutely enjoy every part of this beautiful state, but my favorite is it’s people. I live in Aurora with my husband, our two kids (4 & 6) and a few four-legged friends. I absolutely love being able to be home with my kids through their young years. Being a mom has helped me to see the world through their curious, free-spirited, innocent eyes. To me God is the source of beauty and we merely gaze upon it, what a wonderful gift! Let’s explore the possibilities of what beauty we can help you unlock via a fun evening together, accomplishing your own work of art, or having a wonderful conversation in good company…all at the Paint Cellar!
